Registration is free.
The registration deadline is Tuesday 5 November 2024 at 12.00 Eastern Standard Time (EST)
The United States Embassy in Tunis announces that the registration period for the Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) 2026 lottery is open now until November 5, 2024. The DV lottery program admits all Tunisian citizens who have completed their high school education or are working in a profession. requires specialized training to register for the opportunity to apply for a US immigrant visa. Registration is free. Individuals selected during the 2026 DV season must apply for and receive their immigrant visas by September 30, 2026. The online registration period for the 2026 DV Lottery closes on Tuesday 5 November 2024 at 12.00 Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT-5).
The DV Lottery Program makes up to 55,000 US immigrant visas available worldwide each year to randomly selected applicants who meet strict eligibility criteria. The program aims to diversify the United States’ immigrant population by selecting applicants from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.
Registration for the DV Lottery is FREE, and the US State Department only accepts online registrations through the Department’s website: https://dvprogram.state.gov. Instructions for registering for the DV Lottery are available on the Embassy website at: https://tn.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/diversity-visa/ and on the Department of State website at: travel.state. gov/dv. The US Department of State strongly recommends that applicants self-register, as false or incorrect information may result in exclusion from the program. Be wary of anyone who charges a fee to help you sign up.
All DV Lottery participants must print and retain their online confirmation page after completing their DV registration until at least 30 September 2026. Beginning May 4, 2025, participants will be able to use their unique confirmation number provided during registration to check their registration status online at: https://dvprogram.state.gov/ to see if their registration has been selected . The confirmation number is the only way to confirm whether a registration has been selected. If selected, the participant must also use their confirmation number to obtain visa application and appointment information. The unique verification number helps protect DV applicants from fraud, embezzlement and mail problems.
Unscrupulous visa brokers have been known to offer to help participants register, hold onto the confirmation number, and then demand more money or illegal activity in exchange for the confirmation number. To prevent fraud, participants must ensure that they receive and keep the unique confirmation number when registering or by completing the registration themselves. The US State Department never sends selection or interview notices by mail, e-mail, or telephone.
US law does not allow it only one main registration per person during the registration period. Submission of more than one primary entry for an individual will result in disqualification of all entries for that individual. Spouses can both register as primary participants and register each other as eligible family members.
Important note:Being selected for the DV 2026 program makes individuals eligible to apply for a visa, but it does NOT guarantee an interview or a visa. Registration for the DV Lottery is free, but if your participation is selected, you must pay the visa fee as part of your agreement. The US government will never ask you to send payment in advance by check, money order, or wire transfer.
