The Gard on vigilance orange rain and flooding

As just a week ago, Météo France has put Gard on orange rain and flood warning. Two departments are concerned about this orange vigilance: Gard, but also Var. According to Météo France, a new episode of heavy rain is expected around the Mediterranean, starting in Gard and then Var in the coming hours.

In the Gard, significant accumulations of rain already fell since mid-afternoon at the foot and the southern foothills of the Cévennes with 60 to 90 mm and up to locally 100/110 mm.

The department is also located in yellow alert for storms and floods for the following rivers: Vidourle, Cèze Amont, Gardons d’Ales and Anduze.

At Var an active storm cell is underway in the Muy sector with very high intensities during the last 3 hours with accumulations around 70/80mm estimated, this cell is currently losing intensity.
